X-Tubo
In developing the , Tubolito had a goal that was as clear as it was ambitious: to produce a bicycle inner tube that could no longer be flattened. To achieve this, tubes were made from different materials using different processes. The prototypes were subjected to a wide variety of tests. The approach was to test in a very practical way. The developers at Tubolito drove over thorn bushes, scattered broken glass and crossed them, and drove over a specially developed nail ramp. In this way, they approached it step by step until they themselves were convinced that they had found a product that would make punctures impossible in everyday life.
Designed, developed and manufactured in Europe
Tubolito hoses made of the high-tech material thermoplastic can withstand forces two times higher than standard hoses. The material can be stretched more than four times, providing maximum protection from a puncture.
Tubolito hoses under test
A 0.75 mm test mandrel travels at a defined speed through a pre-drilled hole in the casing. Tire pressure is 2.0 bar. The force and the distance to the tire burst are recorded. Tubolito is clearly convincing here: Puncture safety is twice as high as with standard tubes in terms of puncture.
